Dear Friends,
I guess having reached this mark, I had better take the front page!
To..to..toot.!!(Trumpets!) Let the drums roll!!
When I first came here in 1976, I would get in the public jeep and people would stare in wonderment at this young white woman ( to my embarrassment!) But now, its just "Maam, you will get down at Hebron?" Oh well!
It all began after a friend's wedding (Nigel & Lyn Ross. They have visited me here recently!) As I was driving back to Children's Camp at Raglan, the verse card on the dashboard of my little old VW, said "Go, for I have chosen you to serve me," from 2 Chron.29:11. I idly thought "Isn't this what You want me to do?" The thought came "Philippines!" I said "If you want me to go there Lord, please make it very clear!" The next day was Sunday..and from Raglan P.O Box 6..there was a letter for me from the Philippines!! An invitation from Uncle Charlie & Aunty Beryl McRae to join CBM there!
So began an adventure..by faith! Major events -
Starting the Children's Home on Mindoro Is.
Starting the Bible College in our house.
Moving out to this big place in Bulacan.
Deaths of Uncle Charlie & Aunty Beryl 1990.
Lastly the fire which left us with nothing!1997
"He who calls you is faithful..." (1 Thess.5:24)
Thanks to you wonderful loved ones and friends, who have stood by us all this time! Dianne
School News
Our elementary school was very happy to receive seven second hand computers plus printer and scanner from Warners Bay Baptist Church in Australia. Mark and Michelle Whitehouse unpacked it all and the PTA helped to get them installed. Thank you very much! It now means that during computer lessons there are almost enough units for each child to have one, instead of sharing.
Scouting for boys and girls is our extra-curricular activity as from last year. It has good principles and good teamwork. Our Kab Scouts (6-9 year old boys) did well in their first Regional meet. Last week, the Boy Scouts (one patrol) went to their first camp - Jamborette.(over1000 boys) They were so excited the first day, they forgot to take their lunch!! As we have no tents, everything was improvised -school curtains, tarpaulin, sacking!!... Do you know of a spare tent
PCFFD
This last June we opened the Sped school to 86 children!! Rooms are bursting!! In 1996 we started with one deaf student. We now have 50.
Our livelihood sewing project (under Marina Aguilar) started in 1998 with 2 machines making small round dusters out of scraps for jeeps. Thanks to NZ Embassy and others, we have several high speed machines and produce over 200 garments a week for stores in the malls.
Meet Raymond Sta Maria, from Angat
Bulacan! He was very shy when he joined our retreat camp for disabled in 2002 because of his disablility. He is a thelidomide victim with incomplete arms and legs. It was his first time to get into a swimming pool.He began to have hope, found new friends, and he received Jesus in his life. Our speaker this year, Ptr Dong, also disabled, saw his willingness to serve inspite of his disability, and he invited him to join his ministry in Isabela province to develop his talents.
McRae Center
Auditorium and Canteen for 350, High School for the normal and the deaf,
Area for students training in children's ministry, Gymnastics & Music room.
God promised us after the fire in 1997 that the glory of the latter house would be greater than the former one, (Haggai 2:9) and that He would restore double to us (Zechariah 9:12) He has not let us down. We have 5 buildings since the fire, plus a cover court - more than what we could have ever dreamed of!
Please pray with us!! "Its not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit," says the Lord (Zech.4:6) Pray that God will be honored in this place. May it also honor the work and sacrifice of Uncle Charlie & Aunty Beryl McRae, the founding directors.
By faith, we plan to
start building this
November! (The start of the dry season.)
Thank you for all your encouragement,
love and prayers.
May your Christmas
be filled with
Joy and Peace
As we remember
the One who gave it!
Love from Dianne
