Dear Friends,

Here we are already well into 2006! Thank you so much for your friendship and support which in turn helps us to reach out to others in need here, especially children. This verse explains it well. Hebrews 6:10..."God is not unjust...He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.."

God makes all things beautiful in His time!

We hear so much bad news…lets hear some good news!! What about this..a true story too! Once upon a time (1984) a young woman called America!! came to study in our Bible school in Manila. She had gone through a very depressing time, joined the communist movement, was wanted by the military, and had a little baby girl Jenny Ann. The room she had been renting was owned by Christians. "They began to pray for me, but I ignored it. After a year I started to go to church with them, and I felt the songs speak to me, but still I ignored it.Then one Sunday something happened. I reached out to God and I cried aloud inside the church. At that moment I received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.I started to move on with hope. I learned to forgive. Febe my friend encouraged me to go to the Bible school. One night as I was praying, an audible voice came to my mind. "Don't worry. I will provide everything you need, even for your child." So, I went to Bible school.

Today, America is a Sped teacher in our Center For Disabled, and pastors a church
For my Field Training I was sent to Isabela. I held a Bible Club in Sandiat, San Manuel, and a little boy called Edwin Asuncion was among the children who came to know Jesus. His mother opened their home for Bible Studies and I stayed there from time to time and taught them Family Devotions. The family became friends of mine and we would visit. Jenny Ann was very fortunate to have sponsors who supported her right through to her getting a degree as a school teacher. Thank you very much. Jenny Ann's success is your success too. Now she and Edwin are planning to marry this coming May 6!.Let's pray that God will make a way for long time sponsors, David & Ellen Marple from New Zealand to come to this happy occasion!

A new chance for Rogelio!

By Briccio Aguilar, Director
Phil. Christian Fellowship For Disabled.

Rogelio has been blind since birth. We met him in 1993 when we started. He comes from a broken family and lives with his brother's family and his sister who is hearing impaired! They are very poor. He helps in the local AOG church and has a very good singing voice. Recently he has been living in the church because of his family's situation.

Being poor, he never had a chance to study Braille, but he never gave up his desire to study! Here in our place we don't have any facilities to help the blind as yet. He is now 25.I have found a school for him to attend in Manila as a stay-in from Moday to Friday It is EPTHA FOUNDATION FOR THE BLIND and they will give him a 6 month training in braille, massage, and how to use his cane properly. And I am so happy that Governor's office will shoulder his schooling. Rogelio is very excited!

If anyone would like to help him, by sponsoring his transportation and other needs, please email us.

Notes

  • We are introducing new members to our Board of Corporation - Ptr Paul Galvez, Mrs Melissa Amado, Miss Leah Bermejo, all our former Bible College students, & Mrs Pilar Pasilan.
  • A few weeks back, a fire burnt all the big appliance store belonging to Mr Wong our Board Chairman!! We went and helped. The smell of wet burnt mess was familiar to us from our fire. They will be temporarily moving to a very small store, but of course they will be starting from scratch. So very hard!
  • We very much welcome Miss Jenefer Presto our new housemother in Hebron Children's Home.
  • We thank God that CBM has been exempted from paying the yearly Real Property Tax, and the transfer tax for the title that somehow had been overlooked when we got it back in1991!
God bless you! From CBM Family.
