It all began with a fire on April 9 (Heroes Day here in Philippines).
After an hour, with 7 fire engines, a jammed highway, crowds of spectators, we found that we were all safe,(approx 100) but we had lost everything except what we stood up in. All our work for 22 years was burnt.
People said "Go home..to where you came from…forget the ministry,.its all burnt." But we gathered on the basketball court in a circle,(we could feel the heat of the smouldering buildings) and we told everyone "No, we will stay," and we prayed and we laughed and we cried. But that decision spoke to God's heart.
All the people turned and went home…but they came back!!! They brought bowls and spoons, clothes for little children, canned sardines, bread and rice. We never went without a meal!
In the next few days, God spoke to us through 3 different people:
Hab 3:17-19 "Though the fig tree may not blossom nor fruit be on the vines ..Yet I will rejoice in the LORD." (Violeta Deslate)
Haggai 2:9 "The glory of this latter house shall be greater than the former.. and in this place I will give peace," says the Lord of Hosts.(Ptr Ramil Castillo)
Zech 9:12 "Return to the stronghold.. prisoners of hope,..I will restore double to you."(Josie Holten)

(Living on the Basketball Court)
We had no pen or paper or Bible, but we began to claim these Words, I needed to report to the bank..The bank teller said to me "Where is your God now?" I was shocked, but I answered that God allows things for a purpose and we believed he had something better for us!
Since then we have had buildings built or renovated, and we don't owe anything! Just this new one -
We still need an audio visual room and a wooden stage floor - (S12,066NZD, P312,000). And we owe P2 million ($60,000NZD). Wonderful if we could see all that paid off before the opening!
